On Monday June 30th, 2025, the Hwa Rang Do Grand Championships 2025 took place in the beautiful National Martial Arts Hall in Strassen.

This year’s event was extra special, as we commemorated the 65th Anniversary of the Hwa Rang Do Association®, a milestone in our legendary martial art’s history!

The Teams were each a five-member team consisting of four men and one woman and in order to gain the overall victory, they had to win two out of the three categories.

Started with the first category – Stand up Striking Quick Submit Fighting (Yongtoogi – Fight for Courage) unique to Hwa Rang Do®. Luxembourg secures the win with 3 wins to 2 for Italy.

Continuing with Submission Grappling (Gotoogi – Fight to the End) – Luxembourg were completely destroyed and shut down 5 wins to 0.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠.

The Final category of the Weapon Fighting Division (Mugi Daeryun with Sticks and Swords) would be the decisive factor in who wins.

In the last of the 5 Matches, it was a tie of 2 wins for Luxembourg against 2 wins for Genova and the last point had to be done in Overtime.

Whoever scored first would secure the victory.

His Royal Prince Louis of Luxembourg, the Patron of the Martial Arts in Luxembourg, prayed for Luxembourg. It was a breathtaking moment when Szymon Mirocha of the Luxembourg National Team attacked viciously and hit the opponent on the waist making the decisive point for Luxembourg’s World Title. His Royal Highness Prince Louis’ prayer secured our victory.
