LUXEMBOURG AS 1st HOST

LOCATION

Hosting the European Judo Championships of the Small States will continue to promote the positive development of judo in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. At the European Open 2019 and the Junior European Championships 2021, we were able to show the high quality of our infrastructures and organisation, even receiving the price as “Best European Organiser of the Year 2021”. Our geographical location makes us easily accessible to many delegations, fans and volunteers.

ORGANIZING TEAM

The organisational team of the Fédération Luxembourgeoise des Arts Martiaux, together with the project partners of the Greater Region and Optin regularly organises international judo events of all sizes and types (individual or team competitions, seminars, training camps) and for all age groups. The organisers are a committed and well-coordinated team that does everything to work more efficiently each time than the time before.

With the backing of the City of Luxembourg and the Ministry of Sport, the bar is raised every time.

FOR JUDO

Organizing the European Judo Championships of the Small States means :

  • kids are getting initiated to enter the sport by watching High Level Judo
  • more spectators = potentially more members
  • To set intermediate sporting goals for a large group of athletes from Luxembourg and the Small States in general = to increase the motivation of the athletes and the level in judo in general
  • To have results in a European Championships = to become more attractive for sponsors, to increase the number of subsidies, to increase the visibility of our sport in press, media…

THE LUXEMBOURGISH ANTI DOPING AGENCY
The Luxembourg Anti-Doping Agency (ALAD) is the national organization responsible for the fight against doping in sport in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Founded jointly by the Ministry of Sports and the Luxemburg Olympic and Sports Committee in 2005, ALAD is an independent foundation that replaced the former National Committee for the Fight Against Doping. It is managed by a board of directors composed of members representing the Minister of Sports, the Minister of Health, the Luxemburg Olympic and Sports Committee, the Luxembourg Society of Sports Medicine, the Association of Teachers of Physical Education of the Public Education and the Luxemburg Association of Sports Physiotherapy.

ALAD has subscribed to the World Anti-Doping Code, issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which sets the rules and standards that ensure the harmonization, coordination and effectiveness of anti-doping programs at the international and national levels. prevention, deterrence, detection and suppression of doping.

ALAD regularly organizes tests in and out of competition in Luxembourg. These are planned with a maximum of discretion in order to respect the data protection of the controlled athletes. The results are published regularly anonymously on the ALAD website. Only positive cases are the subject of press releases that reveal the identity of the athlete.
